Jersey Love
This mail was certainly not trashy.
I received tons of kind wishes for my birthday on my Facebook wall but few (read: only one) actual hard copies. This card came in from a friend in Jersey who has been incredibly supportive through everything. I didn't expect it at all, but the other day I did learn about it before I got to my mailbox.
"How often do you check your PO box?" He asked me.
I've been so busy with things. I kept missing opportunities to check it.
Last night there it was. It was a message to wish me a good year. It was something extra to help pay for the journey. It wasn't a lot but it was everything. It came without having to ask. It came without an expectation and attachment of indentured service.
It was there.
Out of a sea of birthday comments, there stood a few shining ones. They were less common than I wish but I couldn't be more thankful for them. There are good people out there. Thank you to my dear Jersey friend for being one of them.
